Birds on a Wire

Nuées Ardentes, the new album from Birds on a Wire, out on 3 October 2025, explores the theme of adolescence with delicacy and intensity - its surges, its dizziness, its melancholy and its flashes of brilliance. Carried by the magnetic voice of Rosemary Standley and the vibrant cello of Dom La Nena, this singular repertoire weaves links between eras and styles: songs by Bronski Beat, The Cure and The Doors dialogue with an aria by Stefano Landi, a song by Barbara and traditional English sining. The Maîtrise de Radio France, conducted by Sofi Jeannin, brings a choral light to this deeply moving ensemble. With Nuées Ardentes, Birds on a Wire have made an album that is both intimate and incandescent.
