Biography & Metadata

If rock and roll is a game of staying power, then Mark Anthony G is in sudden‑death overtime with a broken pick and a smirk. This Waterloo Region, Ontario lifer didn’t just dip his toe into the music biz—he “cannonballed in” back in 85, trading the chalk dust of a Winnipeg music school for the sticky floors of every beer‑soaked bar between Prince George and Mont Tremblant. In the golden days of top 40 cover bands, while others coasted on charisma and cheap gear, Mark was hauling a Korg M1 and a Tascam 4‑track through snowbanks the size of Buicks. He wasn’t just gigging—he was building sonic blueprints in the back of vans, fusing grit and gearhead obsession into a DIY dreamscape long before it was cool. Then came Harris Institute, then came life—a kid, quiet, the occasional pang of lost licks. But when the world hit pause in 2020, Mark hit record. Recently, Mark teamed with Michael Hanson of Glass Tiger, bringing fresh energy to his latest release, “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door,” released June 26, which features Mark stepping forward as the lead vocalist for the first time. Hanson produced the track and performed all instrumentation, marking a new chapter in Mark’s creative evolution. Three decades in and he still got something to prove. The industry’s changed, but Mark’s guitar hasn’t lost its bite. Stream him now, catch him live and remember—some cats don’t just play music. They live it.
