Biography & Metadata

Formed in 2020, Mara Bloom is a progressive post-hardcore band from Honolulu, carving their own path through a dynamic blend of soaring melodies, gritty breakdowns, funky grooves, and intense screams. Their debut EP, Hallucinations (2021), quickly turned heads, showcasing their fearless genre-fusion approach and emotional depth. In 2023, Mara Bloom was recognized as "The Best Example of the Emo Resurgence" by Ghost Killer Entertainment, an honor that solidified their place in the post-hardcore scene. The band’s unique sound has also earned them features in respected outlets such as New Noise Magazine, Kill the Music, Rebel Noise, and Idioteq. They’ve shared the stage with notable bands like Properties of Nature and Lilac Kings, further cementing their reputation as a force in the modern post-hardcore movement. Building on their ever-evolving sound, Mara Bloom is set to release their debut full-length album, They Who Invite, in October 2023. The album pushes the boundaries of genre, blending elements of Japanese city pop, post-djent metal, and math rock. Thematically, it takes listeners on a captivating journey through a modern love story steeped in Shinto mythology, offering a rich, immersive narrative that deepens the band’s emotional and sonic range.
