Who is Ga Lia: Ga Lia, real name Vinolia Ganess, is a DJ, Business Woman and a philanthropist who hails from Petermaritzburg and currently resides in Ekurhuleni. Started of a dancer for the likes of Malaika and Professor, to being a Label Manager for a South African well recognized independent label, Kalawa Jazmee Records, where she has worked with the likes of Oskido, Mahoota, DJ Zinhle, Thebe, Mafikizolo, Bongo Maffin, Boom Shaka & Uhuru (& DJ Maphorisa). Today Ga Lia is a well renowed figure in the South African music business. Music Business Philanthropy Ga Lia's philosophy is that for the greater good of us as human beings knowledge must be shared. This is why she devotes herself in working with developing artists such as B33Kay, Gucci Peri, De Soul, & S'Villa. As well as doing seminers about the music business in South Africa. DJ Career Highlights • Music Business Ga Lia is the owner and Director of Sparky Jive Entertainment (SJE), which is a company that is a pillar of her music career as a DJ. SJE also manages Soa Mattirx, the legendary Kwaito group, Trompies and the rising star, Kemixal. The company works on partnership basis with musical acts such as Ntokzin & Vigro Deep and Vetkuk vs Mahoota. Ga Lia is also an affiliate to Brand Art, which is a company that assist artists and brands in making a connection.
