Two wise-cracking friends who seem real cool to share a beer and some laughs with may seem unlikely heroes of the future bass revival, but behind Koastle’s approachable humor and laidback demeanor lies a striving dedication to golden hour sounds that elevate the soul. Since meeting in college and growing close through a shared love of ODESZA and Flume, Andy Mueller and Brett Beaudette spent 10 years perfecting the Koastle sound. It’s an uplifting, energetic and nostalgic style, mixing wonky future bass beats with bittersweet chords, glittering synth textures, gritty bass bursts & romantic feeling. With a catalog that boasts more than 50 million cross platform streams and viral social media moments, Koastle leads the indie-electronic revival. “Out of Bounds,” “Hurricane,” “Stay Close” and a remix of Lorde’s “What Was That” infuse the spirit of 2010s future bass with modern technique.
