Biography & Metadata

Superocean is a Portland, Oregon-based daytime dream pop band blending driving sounds of ’80s-inspired synthesizers, delay-drenched sonic guitars, and atmospheric vocals. Their sound captures the feeling of being wrapped in a cloud, carried by waves of kinetic energy. On November 26, 2026, Superocean will release their third EP, Body Double. Recorded with Skyler Norwood at Miracle Lake Studios, known for his work with Blind Pilot and Talkdemonic. Superocean is a four-piece consisting of Cody Myers (synthesizers and vocals), Eric Wenzel (guitar), Mike Arata (drums), and Andrew Dent (drums). Original members Cody and Eric established the band's signature blend of synthesizers, atmospheric guitar, and ethereal vocals. Joined by Mike and Andrew, the current lineup brings a dynamic and tightly connected rhythm section that adds a new dimension to the band's sound. With roots in the Portland music scene dating back to 2016, Superocean has spent years playing local venues and expanding their reach to neighboring cities. Their discography includes the Superocean EP, Castles EP, and their first full-length record, Permafeels, released in 2023. Each release has marked a new chapter in the band's development, moving from their early shoegaze and indie rock influences toward a more expansive, pop driven, synth-heavy sound.
