Gaia

Gaia Gozzi is an Italian singer, songwriter, and dancer. Born in 1997 to a Brazilian mother and an Italian father, she developed an interest in singing and playing the guitar at an early age. Like many other aspiring artists from her generation, she gained access to the industry as a talent show contestant, achieving second place in the 2016 edition of the Italian X Factor, and winning the 2019 edition of the even more popular Amici di Maria De Filippi. In between competitions, she released the EP New Dawns, as well as other singles, and toured with Giorgia. Her debut full-length for RCA, Genesi, arrived in 2020. One year later she entered the Sanremo Festival with "Cuore Amaro," from her sophomore effort Alma. Gaia kept on developing her own artistic identity, a mixture of pop with urban, electronica, and Brazilian elements (she sings in Italian and Portuguese) over a string of hit singles and collaborations with the likes of Carl Brave, Madame, Aiello, and Tony Effe, as well as dubbing the Italian-language version of the Disney film Wish. A second Sanremo appearance in February 2025 with "Chiamo Io Chiamo Tu" heralded the release of her third album, Rosa Dei Venti. ~ Mariano Prunes, Rovi
