Ntunja

Ntunja is a traditional folk singer-songwriter from Kwa-Thema Springs east of Johannesburg.She Possesses an african voice that transcend mere melody,with unique and authentic vocal sounds. Wich resonates with the depth of emotions, drawing on a rich tapestry of influences to weave the sound that is both deeply personal and universally relatable. Her stardom became evident from a very young age where she would perform for family and friends that's where her confidence was honed. In 2013 she joined the international Trio The Mahotella Queens and has performed in world stages. In 2022 and 2024 she was nominated at the BIMA awards for traditional artist of the year. Her EP Titled Dawa yangu (My Remedy) is a sonic exploration that transcends genre limitations and uplift spirits.
