DEENO (born Ekpe Promise) is an Afro-Pop artist and songwriter from Yakurr LGA in Cross River State, Nigeria. His sound blends poetic street storytelling, hypnotic melodies, and a rhythmic bounce. Known for turning pain into sonic art, DEENO represents the emotionally expressive new wave of African music. Journey DEENO’s musical identity was shaped by a childhood filled with constant movement, exposing him to diverse sounds. His professional career began at the University of Cross River after winning the MTN Rap Battle. In 2016, he signed with The Junkhouse label in Calabar. After setbacks as an artist, he transitioned into songwriting, eventually achieving his breakthrough with the hit single 'NGOZI' by Crayon featuring Ayra Starr.
