Biography & Metadata

Headaches is the project of singer, songwriter and producer Melisa Bester. Having made and released music under the pseudonym E^ST since 2014, the project was received with and early breakout success, reaching fans on Triple-J Unearthed and resulting in a major-label bidding war. Headaches marks a new era for the artist, a personal and musical evolution; a maturity and pull to more left-leaning electronics. Lyrically, Headaches speaks to growing up; feelings of lust, loneliness and a drive for something new. In 2024 Headaches released a collaborative album with Golden Vessel titled ‘Making Friends with the Space Around Me.’ The following year, Headaches debut solo EP ‘Looking For Something New’ which premiered on FBi Radio's all-Sydney music program The Bridge. ‘We’ll Make Our Beds When We Get Home’ is Headaches follow up release, their second EP on label dottidot, independently managed by Grammy Nominated artist Maxwell Byrne (1tbsp, Golden Vessel). Exploring city life; feeling young, stagnant, and detached, ‘We’ll Make Our Beds When We Get Home’ is the mildew of summer in a busy city, bad second dates and nights out we may later regret.
