GM Jon

This is the Spotify home for music by GM Jon - the retired chess Grandmaster turned music producer. The songs, many of which are sung by Tara Turner, fall into several distinct categories: 1) ‘Dead Poet’ songs. Poetry from the long dead poets turned into modern rock or folk music. William Blake, Alexander Pope, John Keats, Matthew Arnold, Oscar Wilde, Rudyard Kipling, Emily Dickinson and others. 2) Lyrics and music by GM Jon. Songs I have written the words for myself. Humour, politics, chess... 3) Lyrics by Professor Tudor Rickards. The genius professor who collaborates with me by providing me original lyrics to turn to music. 4) Lyrics by Steve Tranter, a retired lawyer who has now written several albums of songs for the GM Jon project. 5) Humorous songs. Music with jokes! 6) Children’s songs, includes ‘Nonsense Songs’ and fairytales. 7) Wisdom of the Geniuses, songs crafted from quotes and comments by brilliant people. GM Jon believes it is the music itself that matters, not who or what created the music. Everyone has the right to create their own music! #GMJon #SongLyrics #TudorRickards #SteveTranter #TaraTurner
