Biography & Metadata

With his third album If This Is It, DJ Seinfeld (Armand Jakobsson) explores letting go, embracing the present, and turning “what ifs” into acceptance. “It’s about reflecting on the past without dwelling in it, and finding harmony in restlessness,” he says. That tension runs throughout. From childhood homesickness to a life spent touring globally - playing The Warehouse Project, Printworks, DC10, Smart Bar, Boiler Room and festivals including Glastonbury and Coachella - Jakobsson has long struggled to settle in the moment. “I’m always looking to go somewhere else… it’s a sense of anxiety in the present.” Written gradually since 2021’s Mirrors, the album became a process of reduction and clarity: “A million ideas turned into one” - an acceptance of things as they are. Sonically, it moves between introspection and club energy: from the hazy ‘U Can’t Come Home’ to the pop-leaning ‘The Right’ with Confidence Man, the poetic title track featuring Dan Whitlam, and the cinematic ‘Something That I’ve Never Known’ with SG Lewis. Emerging from the so-called 'lo-fi house' wave, Seinfeld has evolved into one of electronic music’s most versatile artists. From early acclaim for Time Spent Away From U to the refined Mirrors era and crossover success of ‘Now U Do’, If This Is It feels both timely and personal - a hopeful reminder to accept what is and find meaning in the present.
