DARA turns the complexities of being human into songs that say what we often can’t. Born and raised in Moldova and based in Bucharest, DARA is an artist and songwriter blending vulnerability, honesty and contemporary pop. DARA began her music career in 2012 with “Open Your Eyes,” followed by two collaborations with Carla’s Dreams. Her early success earned her Best New Artist and Best Female Artist titles, and she went on to become the most-played female artist in Moldova for three consecutive years. In 2017, she moved to Bucharest to build the next chapter of her career in Romania. Alongside developing her own artistic project, DARA established herself as a songwriter, writing for artists including Irina Rimes, Guess Who, Misha Miller, Holy Molly, Sasha Lopez, Satoshi, Puya, Antonia, Raluka, Vescan, Alina Eremia, Theo Rose and Andrei Ursu. Her debut album, Ruleta, arrived in 2022. Three years later, DARA released ZENIT — a deeply personal project centered on growth, imperfection, identity and the process of becoming. Now, DARA is entering the next chapter with ZEN IT, a companion EP that continues the journey of ZENIT. Conceived as two complementary halves of the same story, ZENIT and ZEN IT will ultimately come together as one complete album.
