Strizzy Strauss

Leicester-born rapper Strizzy Strauss began his musical journey exploring his parents' music collection, particularly drawn to the early American Hip Hop his father listened to. Growing up in the UK Garage era and observing the sound of rapping in a British accent becoming the norm was something that resonated with him. Witnessing the local success of peers and the commercial rise of UK Hip Hop/Grime on platforms such as Channel U and MTV Base inspired Strizzy to start writing his own lyrics. Mastering the art of writing and recording his own songs gave Strauss the confidence to start releasing his music and sharing his story with the world. The East Midlands-based rapper then officially burst onto the scene in 2017 with a sense of fresh artistic confidence to deliver his debut seven-track EP, “The Art of Summarising Life,” filled with raw energy, thought-provoking lyrics, and hard-hitting beats. This helped garner a strong local following and positive critiques across the industry, and by 2020, Strauss released his successful LP Trust The Process including singles Hieroglyfics Gems and Driven. All tracks received strong support on the airwaves with features from BBC 1Xtra, BBC Radio and more. But ‘Driven’ and its cinematic visuals really showed what Strauss can do creatively, with the emotional masterpiece being featured and debuted on the well-renowned online media outlet ‘Complex UK’.
