Alex Coley, a Nova Scotia-based songwriter and indie-folk musician, explores the elemental tension between joy and pain, heartache and healing, and what was and what will be through his soulful, worn-in voice and tender harmonies. His thoughtful songwriting uses personal experiences as a portal into the universal, inviting listeners to gracefully move through melancholy. Recorded in Josh Van Tassel’s riverside studio before his wedding, Alex’s sophomore album, Patterns, explores doubt and commitment. Written in the liminal space between seeing life alone and committing to a lifetime with someone else, Alex celebrates his colourful life on the South Shore of Nova Scotia.
