Biography & Metadata

Growing up in North-East London Graziella first discovered her voice singing in a Community Gospel Choir. Tumultuous relationships at home led Graziella to discover poetry writing amongst other things as the ultimate escapism. In her teens she joined a hip-hop crew and turned her poetry into rap songs. She felt immediately at home working with the likes ofSkinnyman, Ed Skrein, Plan B and Foreign Beggars. She has toured internationally with Foreign Beggars, featuring heavily on 3 of their albums, as well as opening with them for Amy Winehouseand performing together at Glastonbury. From TV talent competitions to rock/electro bands and collaborations with DJ Vladim on his tour, Graziella’s continued her pursuit in music and developed her on-stage prowess. However, her own writing voice and unique style was lost. In her own words “It was like an impending divorce, I wanted to make it work so much I would skat, rap, scream but the passion was gone”. It was only after hitting what she felt was rock bottom with a lack of inspiration that her phoenix-like rise back into the industry was catalysed by producer Charlie J Perry. Experiencing life before music, Graziella has written soul and blues infused songs of deeply personal autobiographical lyrics. Like all good blues it takes the listener on a journey through life’s endeavours and struggles to empowerment and inner strength. “If Johnny Cash and Nina Simone had ever had a baby, they would have produced me.”
