Biography & Metadata

Alexander Hensley is a pop artist from Knoxville, Tennessee, creating music driven by raw emotion, sharp hooks, and high energy. His songs move between euphoria and heartbreak, capturing the rush of love, the weight of losing it, and the freedom of becoming someone new. Before music became his passion, Alexander explored dance, writing, visual art, digital design, and coding. After years of bullying, songwriting became the place where he could process what he felt and transform it into something powerful. He first released music in high school with “I Knew Better,” later performing through Sing-It-Forward and tying for third place with his demo “Alive.” After stepping away, he returned at 19 with a vision and spent years rebuilding his entire sound and identity. That evolution led to “Moves Like Magic” and “Past Life,” a record about repeated cycles and the people who leave permanent marks. The song helped shape his debut album, Monarch Butterfly, a pop and pop-rock project about transformation, freedom, identity, resilience, and leaving old versions of yourself behind. Alexander has been mentored by Kara DioGuardi, whose credits include P!nk, Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, and Santana, and Grammy-nominated songwriter Tayla Parx, known for work with Ariana Grande, BTS, Panic! at the Disco, Janelle Monáe, and Jennifer Lopez. For Alexander, every release is proof of change. Monarch Butterfly begins a louder, freer, more fearless era.
