Some artists live and breathe for stardom, hustling and schmoozing to be in the right place at the right time and ride the ladder to Famesville. Ahsha is different. Ahsha was quietly building her performer career while working as an editor at a media/music company, a frantic engineer came running out of the studio: “Can anyone here sing?” Russian-Armenian Ahsha tentatively raised her hand knowing a demo record was about to be cut. She had only ever really sung for friends and family and had never stepped into a vocal booth before. Vocal booths can be daunting places, even for seasoned vocalists. But Ahsha had nothing to lose and figured she would take the leap. The company’s co-founder guided her through the process, but, in one take BANG! Ahsha totally nailed it. The demo was submitted to a Sony GSA artist/producer and a month later, the track, ‘Fancy Things’ is indeed being released by Sony.
