Biography & Metadata

Argovia is a modern progressive rock band from Bogotá, Colombia, founded by Ani Guillén (vocals, guitar, percussion) and Carlos Arminio (keyboards, backing vocals). Blending progressive rock, alternative metal, and atmospheric textures, the band has developed an emotionally charged and cinematic sound often compared to Riverside, Karnivool, Anathema, VOLA, and Porcupine Tree. After gaining recognition with their EP Who We Are (2024), nominated as one of the Best EPs of the Year by Nación Progresiva, Argovia entered a new creative era with the release of their latest album Primal Repetition (2026). Introspective, melodic, and emotionally immersive, the album explores cycles of transformation, memory, vulnerability, and renewal through a modern progressive lens. Primal Repetition features Ross Jennings of Haken on the track Ebb & Flow, while the singles Mountains and Unstoppable were both selected as Track of the Week by Prog Magazine. The album has further established Argovia as one of the rising names in contemporary Latin American progressive rock. The band has shared the stage in Colombia with internationally acclaimed acts such as Circus Maximus, Weather Systems, and VOLA, continuing to strengthen their presence within the global progressive scene. ARGOVIA is Ani Guillén (vocals, guitar, percussion), Carlos Arminio (keyboards, backing vocals), Nicolás Paredes (bass), and Mauricio Sanabria (drums
