Johnoy Danao

Johnoy Danao is a Filipino songwriter, singer, and record producer. A consummate troubadour, he pens narratives on love and life, with the acoustic guitar as his battle axe. His songwriting style—a contemporary take on kundiman music—has won him several awards and recognition. He is also known for his collaborations with fellow musicians Clara Benin, and, most notably, with Ebe Dancel and Bullet Dumas, forming the trio 3D. Prior to his solo career, he was frontman of the band Bridge. To date, he has in his roster four critically-acclaimed solo albums: Dapithapon, Samu't-Sari, Salubungan, and the latest being Troubadour Tales—a collection of songs on what he says is the story of his life so far. In 2021, he released three singles namely, Isang Umaga, Bright Like the Sun, and Hot Chocolate, collaborating with some of the best musicians and producers in the industry. In 2023, he released another song titled Buti Na Lang, and began touring in coffee shops and cafés all over the country. All stops of his café tour are sold out. His latest release is a city-pop inspired track titled Magkasama featuring the band Project Yazz. 2025 marks his 25th year in the music industry. This milestone will be celebrated through a 2-day concert on March 14-15, 2025 at The Metropolitan Theatre in Manila, featuring a backing band and a full orchestra.
