Alaska1867 grew up in Fáskrúðsfjörður, a town of just over 700 people on Iceland's east coast. As Alaska1867, she's become one of the most distinctive voices to come out of Reykjavík. Trap, hyperpop dreamlike electronica, house, she moves between them without much interest in the borders. What holds it together is a cold, minimal soundscape and songwriting that hides nothing: heartbreak, addiction, sobriety, the reckoning after. Charli xcx and Bladee on one side, the nightlife of 101 Reykjavík on the other. The name came from a video about the 1867 Alaska Purchase. It stuck. Her debut album “222” landed in February 2025. A new album arrives 25 September, led by "Tígrisdýr" feat. Birnir and "Við tvö."
