With over a billion streams worldwide, Simon Ward is a songwriter whose lyrical inspiration floods in from real life experience, running the gamut from darkness to light, tragedy to joy, feeling lost to finding home. He spent a decade at the helm as principal songwriter and frontman of scrappy Toronto alt folk-pop band, The Strumbellas. Penning their Billboard #1 Alt Rock hit, Spirits (which went Gold, Platinum to 4xPlatinum in various countries), he got to travel the world, experiencing what it was like to play the big stages of premier festivals and all our favourite late-night shows. Simon spread his wings as a songwriter (and feature vocalist), working with iconic DJs Armin van Buuren and R3HAB on their chart topping, gold record, Love We Lost. He’s since collaborated with tremendous artists including Deepend, Fedde Le Grand, KAAZE, Disco Face, Vilhelm Buchaus, John Muirhead, The Rehats and more, each and every time being truly humbled and amazed watching songs he’s contributed to take flight through a fellow artist’s vision.
