Surge.DJ

Surge.DJ is the production alias of Neal Asthana, a Washington, D.C.-based producer and DJ. His work centers on trance, with elements of techno, progressive house, and occasional experimental detours woven in. Surge.DJ's relationship with electronic music goes back to 2001, and he's been producing since 2004. Working primarily in Ableton Live, he's spent that time refining a sound that blends trance's melodic, uplifting structures with the more driving textures of techno and progressive house. Each release reflects a specific set of influences and ideas rather than a fixed formula — the catalog has grown gradually, with the sound evolving release to release.
