Biography & Metadata
Gem Auset makes music out of places she has actually stood. Every record starts as a field recording. What she builds from it might come out still or moving, but the source is always the same and always real. She calls it The Sound of Place: in an era of generated audio, a claim about provenance as much as about sound. Australian-born, based in Los Angeles. Nominated for a 2026 Grammy for Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album. Works in Dolby Atmos and Sony 360 Reality Audio, and mixes her own immersive records.
