Biography & Metadata
Warning: My catalog is not a cohesive sonic experience. I make music I love with people I love, and I will follow a song wherever it wants to go--usually in Americana, country, folk, or pop, but, hey, no promises. Eryn Michel [EH-rin Mih-SHEL] is a country, Americana, folktronica, and pop songwriter/singer born and raised in Los Angeles against her will. She served in the U.S. Army as a Civil Affairs Sergeant in Iraq, graduated from UCLA, and served in the White House. She quickly soured on war and politics, and turned to music and motherhood to restore her soul. She now resides in Maryland with her family. Michel wrote in total obscurity for nearly two decades and only recently started releasing her own music. She didn't muster the courage to try her first open mic until age 32. She has since opened for folk legend David Buskin and performed at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville as well as stages in her local Washington, D.C. area. Alchemical Records called her "a masterful lyricist" and praised her self-produced debut single "You Say", released in 2023. She is the winner of the 2024 Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Award. 'No Wrong Turns' is her latest modern country road trip duet with Eli Lev. Written with and produced by Eli and Eryn’s frequent collaborator Austin Bello, this track celebrates the detours, the long ways around, and the ones we love who fuel our journey and make it all worth it.
