JOSEPH (CH)

Born in the UK and raised in Switzerland, JOSEPH’s earliest musical memories were backseat car rides shaped by his mother’s R&B and soul CDs. Through adolescence, he found his footing on a skateboard, mostly accompanied by hip hop and the occasional post-punk Joy Division tune if the mood was right. In 2020, he started his first beats with a high school friend and his guitar. School was coming to an end, and a global pandemic was on the horizon—the perfect time to isolate and make music. No prior DJ experience, no concern for the receiving end. Isolation gave way to field recordings from long walks, hazy ambient takes, laying the groundwork for a sound that focused more on feeling than functionality. The song “Jackie B”, a collaborative release that quickly circulated through clubs, festivals, and playlists worldwide notably marked his 2025 breakthrough moment, establishing him as one of Switzerland’s emerging electronic voices. The year 2026 marks his debut on Pampa Records, setting the tone for a new chapter with the label, known for its warm, hypnotic, and deeply musical approach to dance music, shaped by artists such as DJ Koze, Dave DK, Robag Wruhme, and &ME. His new release “B4U & TRIPIDI EP” includes two secret weapons, regularly finding its way into sets by DJ Koze, &ME, Robag Wruhme, Rampa, Acid Pauli, Adam Port, and MĪMĪ x FY long before its official release.
