DJ Mista

DJ Mista, born Luca Maruca in Bologna, began his career in 1998 in the city's hip-hop scene. After gaining recognition in local clubs, he expanded across Emilia-Romagna, collaborating with Pavarotti & Friends and opening for Alicia Keys, Snoop Dogg, and Guru. He won 1st place at the Numark DJ Contest (South Italy) and placed 3rd at the national DJ Trip Contest (Baia Imperiale). In 2006, he became Italy’s rep for DJ-League, releasing mixtapes with Groove Magazine. In 2010, he dropped his debut album L’Alchimista, with the single Di Corsa winning the PIVI Award and airing on Radio 105, Deejay TV, and Hip Hop TV. He followed with Il TrasforMista (2012), featuring artists like Tormento, Lefty, Maxi B, and Daniele Vit, and the standout single È Troppo Tardi. In 2014, he released Come Sabbia with Gionathan, reaching XL Repubblica’s Top 20 with Nel Vortice. Since 2019, Mista has hosted the radio/TV show Soccia Che Groove, airing on Punto Radio, Radio Città Fujiko, and ETV Rete 7 / 7Gold.
