Biography & Metadata

Divider is an Electronic Body Music (EBM) project based in Southern California, founded in the late 1990s by Bryon Wilson. Emerging from the American underground industrial scene, Divider established a reputation for hard-edged sequencing, militant rhythms, and a cinematic sense of atmosphere rooted in classic European EBM and electro-industrial traditions. Starting in the early 2000s, Divider gained recognition through a series of remixes for artists including XP8, Diverje, Regenerator, Halo Effect, Red Industrie, and eventually British techno pioneers Empirion, Caustic, and Australian industrial legends Snog, further solidifying Wilson’s presence within the global dark electronic community. The project also released material through Basic Unit Productions, the label helmed by Daniel Myer (Haujobb, Architect) and Dejan Samardzic. Over the years, Divider has shared the stage with or opened for influential acts including Lead Into Gold, Mentallo & the Fixer, Data Void, Cervello Elettronico, and Regenerator, earning a reputation for delivering intense, uncompromising live performances alongside some of industrial music’s most respected names. In 2024, Divider expanded into a full collaborative force with the addition of Peter Beal, who now contributes vocals and programming. Divider bridges the aggression of classic body music with contemporary electronic precision, honoring the genre’s roots while pushing its sound into the present.
