MASDO

Malaysia’s very own Masdo gives listeners a new taste of 60s revival pop music. Established in 2015, the band consists of 3 members: Ali Sariah (vocalist/guitarist), Asmawi (guitarist/BV), and Putu Ceri (bassist/BV). Originally named The Lipstick, however, it was later changed to Masdo which originated from the famous character ‘Do or Masdo’ played by the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee in his famous ‘Do Re Mi’ movies. In January 2022, the band was also listed as the most streamed Malaysian artist. In addition, Masdo has also performed at international stages such as China as well as Indonesia. Their second album ‘Jalan Abbey’ was recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London and released in January 2020. It seems the road for these band boys goes beyond and the path ahead is as bright as the disco ball.
