Nervous City Nervous Self

Nervous City Nervous Self began its journey with G-d knows what, a melancholic and introspective track with an extroverted beat, which gathered attention through national radio in several European countries. The project, that began as a nomadic, electronic one-man band, started in Berlin after the artist had gone into a voluntary exile, but later evolved into an artist collective. Notable for declaring “I shall become Sweden´s Leonard Cohen or die!” Nervous City Nervous Self now resides in the less nervous countryside of southern Sweden. Nervous City Nervous Self made its album debut with The Early Fears, which came out in May 2023. The follow-up album is slated to be released in fall 2026. New single Land of the new is a travelogue where the protagonist in his ambition resembles an explorer as he searches for the New Land. With binoculars in his hand and a song on his lips, he whistles and whispers the melody of love. A love that is doomed to be immortalized; perhaps only in a song, or it could possibly also be unfolded into a map of the New Land. And though the Land he ends up in might be different from the one he set out for; movement and courage are central elements to the endeavor. Leave or stay, but let go of everything you have, and give yourself in order to receive – Land in sight!
