Gwyn English Nielsen

New Jersey native Gwyn English Nielsen is a diverse creative personality who is not embarrassed to admit that she is in her sixties. She has been writing and publishing poetry, prose, nonfiction and plays (one screenplay) for twenty-three years, selling over five thousand (and counting) copies of her four, self-published, self-marketed book titles part time. As an actress, she has appeared on stage, on TV, and in three motion pictures. Gwyn has also been entertaining audiences as a professional vocalist since 1981. She toured with various groups nationally and internationally. As one half of the duo Girls' Night Out, she performed mainly in nursing homes and safe houses and is a guitarist, songwriter with Music for All Seasons and Voices of Valor. Along with Benny Harrison (The Young Rascals/Shondels) and Julio Fernandez (Spyro Gyra), she has assisted vets (as well as moms and their children) to write and record original music. Perhaps the most impressive of her accomplishments is that she is a proud voting member of the Recording Academy of Arts and Sciences (Grammys) as well as BMI,and Sound Exchange. At present, she lives in Los Angeles where she invades other artists' spaces by jumping in (by invitation) and contributing to their jams whether they are in clubs or on the streets. Mostly, she hangs out with her media exec daughter Saxony and assorted talented friends/family.
