Biography & Metadata

Zapapaya is a French-Colombian producer and DJ based between Paris and Cartagena, blending Afro-Caribbean rhythms with a modern, organic and sun-drenched sound. After a decade composing for others, he launched his solo project in 2023, exploring Afro-Colombian folklore through collaborations with La Burgo, DJ Corpas, Son Palenque and Palenque Records. This first chapter became a manifesto to his Caribbean roots. In 2024, Aurora with La Negra Hawkins, released on Bob Sinclar’s Africanism, established his name on the global Afro House scene — supported by Moblack, Nitefreak, Nolek… He quickly gained international recognition with releases on renowned labels including Africanism (Bob Sinclar), Nacional Records, Sacro Music (Mestiza), Make The Girls Dance (HUGEL), and Orianna (Sony Music Spain). His music has been supported by leading names of the global Afro House scene such as Moblack, Nitefreak, Rampa… With performances across Europe and Latin America — including Paris, London, Ibiza, Athens, and Cartagena — Zapapaya is emerging as a distinctive and essential voice in the global Afro House landscape
