Arend West

Arend West is a songwriter and storyteller who turns lived experiences into music that reflects the deeper layers of memory, identity, and personal growth. His songs are not just stories, but reflections — moments where personal truth and music meet. Drawing from real experiences, his work blends cinematic dark pop with intimate storytelling, creating songs that feel honest, raw, and without masks. Seven years after the passing of his mother, Arend began writing during a period of profound reflection. Her life story became a mirror that helped him understand his own — revealing how patterns can repeat themselves across generations if we are not willing to confront them. Through music, Arend transforms these reflections into songs that explore memory, resilience, and the courage to choose a different path. For him, songwriting is not about dwelling on the past, but about giving it meaning. Every song becomes a mirror — sometimes intimate and quiet, sometimes intense and cinematic — inviting listeners to recognize something of their own story within the music.
