Biography & Metadata
Deivis began his musical career in the short-lived alternative rock band Liūdesio gėlės. After finishing school he focused on studying at Stasys Šimkus Conservatoire and re-emerged on music scene two years later as a solo artist. Deivis' first hit „Mergytei‘99“ became one of the most played songs in Lithuania in year 1999. After release of debut album "Intro" Deivis instantly got among the most popular Lithuanian artists. Three following albums "44 minutės", "Dainuok" and "Geriausios dainos – gyvai" had a huge success also. There was no surprise that Deivis was named Best Performer at music awards "Radiocentras 2001". 5th album "Liūdesio gėlės" (2003) marked a comeback to the more guitar-driven sound and featured such hits as "Taip gera" and "Tikėk savim". While studying at Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre Deivis started singing in various musicals, operettas and operas. His increased interest in classic music was reflected on 6th album "Oro lėktuvėlis" which featured two songs "Užliek mane" and "Malda" recorded with famous Lithuanian baritone Eduardas Kaniava. This colloboration later expanded onto two duet's albums "Tu, kuris aukštai" (2006, certified Golden) and "Ave Maria" (2008). 7th album "O man – čik čirik" (2007) mostly consists of the songs recorded for various TV shows and duets with other Lithuanian performers. In year 2010 Deivis recorded another full-fledged album "Lietuva" which featured 12 new songs and a reworked version of his first hit "Mergytei".
