Mieka Pauley

Mieka Pauley spent fifteen years touring the country, playing folk clubs, festival stages, and green rooms where her songs had arrived before she did. She opened for everyone from Citizen Cope to KT Tunstall to Martin Sexton, and played in the round with John Legend back when he was still John Stephens. Other artists covered her songs, Ben Taylor among them. Her songs have turned up in feature films and on television. She started out busking on the streets of Boston and ended up singing the national anthem at Fenway three times. She landed in the New York music scene, her home base between tours, and met her husband Shane MauX on the L train in Brooklyn. They were both musicians, got to talking, and he realized he already knew her music: he would hear her on his hometown's local radio, a thousand miles away. Over the years they've made music and made kids.
