saturn and the hula hoops

“saturn the hula hoops” was created by Michael Iorio in 2020, shortly after receiving his post graduate degree in music composition. The project serves as a canvas for Michael’s musical exploration. Originally intended as a pun, the name “saturn and the hula hoops” hints at the projects tendency to portray a space theme. The use of “hula hoops” was a playful nod at the common use of loops in the lo-fi/chill-hop genres. saturn’s music has a tendency to pair the nostalgic and peaceful aural experience of lo-fi with the exhilarating and tense feeling of dubstep.
