Biography & Metadata

Tic Tic is a Norwegian duo comprising Irene Svendsen and Kai Drange. They craft electronic music that balances modern innovation with a sense of nostalgia. Their sound draws from alternative pop, rock and electronic textures, with echoes of Dead Can Dance, Massive Attack and Depeche Mode. Their music is often described as experimental yet accessible, blending synthetic precision with organic warmth. A defining element of Tic Tic’s sound comes from the Eigenharp, an unusual electronic instrument that allows synthesizers to be played with the nuance and immediacy of an acoustic instrument. Rather than programming synth parts into a sequencer, Tic Tic performs them: shaping notes in real time through touch, pressure and movement. The result is electronic music with a distinctly human feel. Tic Tic expands its electronic soundscape on its second album, scheduled for release in late November. With this album, Tic Tic have taken a darker turn, circling themes of identity, time and memory. What does an uncertain future do to us? What do we choose to carry with us into the years ahead? Led by "Capsule", the title track explores the influences that shape us and the choices that define who we become.
