The past two years have been a whirlwind for Bemz, a period filled with milestones, collaborations, major live performances and creative exploration. From releasing new music to growing his own M4 Festival into one of Scotland’s most influential independent music events, the Nigeria-born, Glasgow-based rapper has solidified his place as a dynamic force in the Scottish music scene and beyond. At the start of 2024, Bemz went into the year with a clear goal in mind: to create a full-length album. While that journey was already in motion, an unexpected opportunity came knocking in the form of an invite to join The Snuts in the studio. Having already opened for the band at their huge Barrowland Ballroom shows, as well as embarked on a UK-wide tour supporting them, the collaboration seemed like a natural step. But what began as an impromptu experience quickly turned into a defining moment, leading to new music that not only showcases a fresh approach to songwriting and production, but blends Bemz’ distinct sound with influences from the Scottish indie scene.
