Black River Ghost

What do you get if you combine the Finnish folk tale of The Apparition of Black Castle with the caressing winds of The American Appalachian mountains? Black River Ghost. Black River Ghost’s music is rough, spiritual and beautiful, humbly following the musical footsteps of such greats as Townes Van Zandt, Bob Dylan, Hank Williams, Willie Nelson, Grateful Dead, Lead Belly, Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, Ralph McTell, Kris Kristofferson, Hot Tuna and Emmylou Harris, just to name a few. One late Summer night 2022 in Helsinki, Finland, punk rock'n'roll singer/guitarist Pekko Mantzin and his bandmates were asked to play an acoustic punk rock gig in a garden party. Instead of playing their familiar punk rock songs, they started jamming on some acoustic songs Pekko had written during the years. That night Black River Ghost was born. Black River Ghost entered the studio in 2022 with producer Bjarki Kaikumo to produce their first EP, ´Blues, Leave My Heart´. It proved to be a fruitful collaboration and it was quickly decided to start work on more tracks and singles. New EP 'Homeless Hearts and Wandering Minds' is out now.
