Lemon Knife

Lemon Knife is a Chicago-based hard rock duo with punk edges, classic rock sensibilities, and literate lyrics. Formed by kindred nerds Mia Blixt-Shehan (bass, vocals) and John Retterer-Moore (drums, lyrics) in the spring of 2017 soon after they started dating, they have played a varied assortment of Chicago venues, including Beat Kitchen, The Hideout, Cubby Bear, and Reggie’s, and many memorable DIY spots. They have released 4 full-length albums and 3 EPs, with their latest release Reptile Wisdom coming out in January 2025. Their lyrics cover a broad range of topics including politics, history, and sharks. John and Mia were married at the Hideout in March 2023, and of course a Lemon Knife set featured as part of the ceremony!
