Biography & Metadata
Born in Lagos and raised in Luxembourg, Ọké makes music shaped by the space between both worlds. Yoruba soul, gospel, Afrohouse and European pop come together in a sound that reflects his relationship with identity, culture and self-expression. Music entered his life early through the church choir in Nigeria, alongside the sounds of Fela Kuti, Brandy, Tiwa Savage, Diana Ross and Aretha Franklin. Moving to Luxembourg at eight opened up a different world, giving him the freedom to experiment with how he sounded, dressed and expressed himself. That contrast remains central to Ọké today. His work moves naturally between Yoruba and English, Lagos and Europe, tradition and contemporary pop, while exploring identity, love, queerness, spirituality and the influence of the women who raised him. Rather than choosing between the different parts of himself, Ọké brings them together, creating a world that feels distinctly his own.
