Donkong

Donkong is an electronic music duo from Germany in the realm of dystopian cyber punk and future vibes. Their songs are reduced to simple elements, yet complex in their textures. Latest releases on Labels like CONFESSION (Like You Say / Simulation), HELDEEP (Gone) and MUSICAL FREEDOM (Battery Life) can be described as energetic, but harmonic bass house, but Donkong continues to push genre boundaries as can be heard in their „Breathing“ EP series (Breathing Zeros EP, Breathing Ones). Thomas (33) and Johannes (32) founded Donkong around 2013 over the internet as children of Soundcloud and Dubstep and in the beginning they experimented with different styles and tempi to find their very own language and strengths. Their early works got picked up by imprints around the globe and played by the biggest names of the industry. After struggling to find a steady home for their vision in Germany, they declined a major record deal and rebooted Donkong in a DIY manner to put out new music every month and if needed completely on their own, from shooting their own music videos to creating their own artwork. With their weekly feedback streams on twitch and tutorials on youtube they also help upcoming artists to find a voice for their own and develop an artistic profile.
