Biography & Metadata
Formed in 1996 in San Jose,CA Smash Mouth didn't waste time getting radio play on major airwaves and landing a multi-million dollar record deal with a major label. Their first single "Walkin' On The Sun" exploded on radio in 1997 and they followed that with their blockbuster hit "All Star" in 1999 shooting straight to #1 in a matter of months. In 2001 the song was featured in the very popular film SHREK thus giving the song another springboard that has catapulted the song to never ending popularity. In 2019-2020 All Star was featured in a Nationwide Progressive Insurance Commercial. To date the band has sold over 12million LPs and millions of singles and in the age of streaming they've seen outstanding numbers.
