Mahaji

Given the name Mahaji ( Mahaji- means new life ) by his older cousin, bestfriend, Grandmother, Aunt who have all passed. Mahaji intends to give life to their names even if they're no longer in the living. He knows their lives weren't always the way they would've intended it to be, So he intends to take on the weight and pressure of their spirits. Coming from section 8 housing in Brooklyn, New York. Mahaji was raised by his Mother, two Aunts, and his loving Grandmother who he adored. New York is where Mahaji would learn how to become a man at a very young age. From getting into fights, to taking care of his Grandmother, to running along side his Uncle from shootouts. Mahaji had no real stagnant Father figure in his life. He says " People would come around but they had their own lives too, I could never be mad at that. The only thing I would wonder is if my family thinks I'm such an amazing kid why wouldn't my dad ? It just never made any sense to me ". Eventually enough was enough. His mother coming from humble beginnings in losing her job would move Mahaji to Maryland. He then would take a lot of his bad habits to Maryland with him. Getting arrested for stealing, fighting, trespassing, etc. Mahaji's anger and emotions had hit an all time peak in the year (2012) when he lost his Grandmother ( from diabetes ), his bestfriend ( from suicide with a gun), and his Aunt ( from diabetes) the same year he was supposed to graduate.
