Jahan Nostra is an Emcee from Mount Vernon, NY & Stamford, CT. In his early childhood, Jahan lived in Mount Vernon, NY – hometown to Pete Rock, Heavy D and Diddy. Surrounded by the musical talent in the neighborhood, Jahan began rhyming at an early age. By 1994, Jahan Nostra was signed to an independent record label, BMX Entertainment in Brooklyn. In the late 90’s, Jahan moved to North Carolina to study Journalism for college. During those years, Jahan worked at Duke University Radio with 9th Wonder who introduced him to Rapper Big Pooh & Phonte. During these years - the early stages of Little Brother - Jahan even had to face-off in a battle with Phonte at the famed Cat’s Cradle. After returning to NY, Jahan released the Bedtime Street Album (2012) and SleepWalking (2013) - produced by Poppa Pill. In 2016, Jahan released ESP - a classic underground hip hop album featuring Smif-N-Wessun, Tone Trump and mastered by the Grammy Award-Winning Engineer, Daddy Kev. Then, in 2023, Jahan Nostra dropped the Violet Skies, EP featuring the Legendary Masta Ace, REKS and Ché Noir. Jahan Nostra performed on several Hip Hop 50 Shows in 2023, and Jahan closed out Hip Hop’s 50th Anniversary by going on tour in Europe with REKS.
