Midnite

Paul (aka Midnite) is a London-based artist born and raised in Portishead, Bristol. A singer, songwriter, rapper, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, he is also one half of the hip-hop duo Running On Empty . Raised in a house full of noise, rhythm, and soul, music wasn’t a choice—it was wired in. From banging beats on anything within reach to teaching himself guitar at 16, songwriting became a lifeline. When life shifted, music stayed. Quiet by nature but heavy with thoughts, Midnite writes to unload what he doesn’t say out loud. His sound lives in the cracks between folk, hip-hop, soul, and rock—raw, reflective, and emotionally honest. Influenced by everyone from The Roots to Etta James, his music is rooted in feeling rather than trends. His work has landed on BBC 1Xtra, BBC Introducing, and BBC Radio London, built through consistency rather than hype. After years of crafting solo material in the background, Midnite is stepping forward—sharing music shaped by real life, real pressure, and real growth. This is the next chapter. No filters.
