Biography & Metadata

Peter Cunnah + Al Mackenzie, a.k.a. D:Ream are probably best known for their hits Things Can Only Get Better and UR The Best Thing, or that they had a famous scientist play keyboards for them!  However, there is so much more than that to discover. They have had 2 UK Top 10 albums: 1993’s D:ream On Vo1 + 1995’s World plus 10x Top 40 singles. Things Can Only Get Better was no.1 for four weeks in 1994 then was famously co-opted as the anthem in 1997 by the Labour Party, writing D:Ream into English history; pop, political and otherwise!   They’ve released 2 further albums - In Memory Of in 2011, and Open Hearts Open Minds a decade later. A third is pending. Meanwhile, they tour all the time.   Forthcoming album ‘D:Ream: The Best Thing’, a collection of their biggest hits remastered from the original 2-inch tapes, it includes unreleased live versions of tracks from their ’95 Shepherds Bush Empire gig, 3 unreleased demos, 2 newly commissioned remixes from Mark Knight and Illyus & Barrientos, and some re-found unreleased remixes from the archive by Sasha, Leftfield, MK, Sure is Pure and The Joy.
