Biography & Metadata
Petty Gene was originally formed sometime in 2015 by songwriter Seth Hendricks (Rainy Day Manual, This Is Goodbye, Mister Adams) and bassist Keith Pounds (Rainy Day Manual, Brennan Whalen and the River Rats). The two initially went through a couple of drummers before settling in and joining forces with Jesse Williams (Groundspeak, Mister Adams) who provided a roots rock groove that fit the style Hendricks was looking for. Sometime later, the band added lead guitarist Stephen Williams (Square State, Rusty Lemon, Egypt Central) who brought clever vocal harmonies and tasteful guitar riffs to the group. Shortly after, they began working on a full length album with recording engineer Mike Wilson out of Memphis, Tennessee. They began recording the album in 2018 but were forced to take a bit of a hiatus due to the outbreak of the Covid 19 Pandemic and members of the band needing to focus more on their families. This debut album was finally released in 2025 as "Chagrin County Courthouse". The initial group has one last single to release in 2026 but do not actively perform any longer as a 4 piece band. This upcoming single is a culmination of the individual work done by the group in remote locations and gelled together to give a tribute to their playing together in the past. The initial founders and core of the group, Seth and Keith continue to write at Keith's home studio and plan to release several other singles and EPs already in progress for the near future.
