Edwin Bonilla

Edwin Bonilla is a Grammy & Latin Grammy nominated performing artist born in Puerto Rico and raised in New Jersey. He is a world wide known percussionist, producer and songwriter and is most admired for his hard-hitting and unique style when playing his amazing percussion set. Bonilla’s unique style brought him to collaborate both in the studio and on stage with music icons such as Gloria Estefan, Arturo Sandoval, Stevie Wonder, Frank Sinatra, Jennifer Lopez, NSYNC*, to name a few. His solo project, presents great energy to his audience with an astounding dynamic range of traditional “descargas” and Salsa anthems, emphasized with his robust and powerful sounds of percussion accompanied by sharp brass arrangements and catchy “coros”. Bonilla’s band is one of the most recognized Salsa orchestras in the world, and has garnered raving reviews from Salsa, Jazz and Latin Jazz specialized media. His album “Homenaje a los Rumberos” (2010) earned him a Grammy Nomination for Best Tropical album as well as Two Latin Grammy Nominations for Best Salsa Album and Best Engineered Album, plus landing him a spot on the top 20 tropical albums of the Billboard charts. As 2019 comes to an end, Edwin gears up to release his 6th studio album, continuing to make a presence in the modern Salsa scene.
