Biography & Metadata
Award winning Australian singer-songwriter / guitarist Thom Wayne Thompson has a knack for melody and song structure, honing his skills in emo-rock band 'Pacer 21' in the early 2000's with national tours, TV appearances, radio play and performances at The Vans Warped Tour. In 2002, his band toured the USA including shows at SXSW, Texas and the legendary music venue, The Roxy Theatre in L.A. His music has featured on international surf movie soundtracks and the RIPCURL Surf compilation 'Built for Riding' CD which featured artists including Blink-182 & Queens of The Stone Age. His solo music incorporates acoustic folk, pop-punk, rock, blues and emo styles, often performing live with a looping pedal and stomp box. In 2010, Thom released a solo acoustic album entitled 'The Day That You Won', with many songs written about his time living in the UK. The release of the single 'Right On Command' in 2024 was a return to his trademark emo-rock sounds swapping out his trusty Maton Acoustic guitar for his electric. The song focused heavily on his time in The Australian Army at Royal Military College, Duntroon. His new single ' The City Lights', releasing in October 2026 is an emotionally heavy, honest pop-punk song about heartache and the hopelessness of living on the edge in a city that never sleeps. Appropriately, Thom is launching the song at a show in Bui Vien Street, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) with other shows in Vietnam and Cambodia as part 'The City Lights' Tour 2026.
